Nikolaos Renieris
Nikolaos Renieris (1758-1847): Born in Palaia Roumata in Kisamos, he studied medicine in Europe and worked as a pharmacist in Chania. In 1820 he was initiated into the Filiki Eteria by the teacher Kallinikos Verrieos. In 1826 he was appointed the representative of Selino Province at the National Assembly of Troezen, and in 1829 he became President of the Cretan Council, a post he held until December 1830. He then settled in Athens, where he later died.
